
Igor Caracas expresses his musicality in different ways as a composer, percussionist, multi-instrumentalist, singer, educator, researcher, and music producer. An active musician in the Brazilian music scene, he released his first solo album Cada Passo in 2019 with his own songs. In 2022, he released Quem Se Aproxima, in addition to five music videos of songs from the two phonograms.
In the academic field, he has a master’s and is a PhD student in Musical Creation
Processes (Music and Education) and a degree in Music Education, all from the
University of São Paulo (USP), where he developed the work Percussion, Discovery
and Creation and where he continues to investigate the percussive objects.
As an educator, he teaches in early childhood education, in teacher training and in
postgraduate studies, a specialization course in art and education.
As a music producer, he has produced his own albums and those of other artists such as Lorena Nunes – La Mar (2020); Ondas dy Calor (2024); Maria Ó – Dança Três (2017); Daniel Medina – Evoé! (2017); Bruno Rafael – Superlua (2019).
Today he is a member of Ondas Dy Calor; Casa Bagunçada; Passarim and
accompanies artists such as Benito di Paula and Rodrigo Vellozo; Bruno Capinan;
Laura Lavieri and Cacá Machado; Manoel Cordeiro, Helô Ribeiro, among others.
